Position:

FOREST HILL SWIMMING POOL MANAGER

Reports to:
Forest Hill Executive Committee


Position Summary:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities including personnel management and training. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, scheduling for staff, public relations, janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms & Lilly Pad Grill (Snack Bar), swim lessons, water aerobics and all other duties as necessary or required. This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. This is a working supervisory position requiring weekend and holiday work. Most importantly, they should be an ambassador of the club. All members should know this person and their staff to build a sense of community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all work schedules for employees making sure the manager or head life guard is always on duty and the pool is open
  • Handle all operations of opening and closing the pool for the season
  • Ensure staff have intimate knowledge of and consistently enforce the Forest Hill Swim and Tennis Club rules and regulations to staff and public
  • Meet with the Forest Hill Board once each month and provide information concerning pool operations
  • Coordinate the hiring of seasonal employees
  • Oversee payroll
  • Manage the club grounds(garbage, upkeep, maintenance) and partner with the tennis director on club amenities
  • Report hours, days, & time worked for all employees under his/her direct supervision
  • Have all completed timecards prior to the due date.
  • Insure employees under his/her direct supervision are properly trained in their duties
  • Assist in tracking pool attendance, balance cash drawer, & make daily deposit as directed
  • Insure proper operating condition of all equipment
  • Handle first aid problems
  • Maintain staff rotations and staff breaks
  • Maintain discipline at the swimming pool facility and supervises all staff enforcing staff policies and rules
  • Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool
  • Document and reports all disciplinary problems and accidents to Forest Hill Board
  • Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of facility, pool vacuumed a minimum of 2 times per week, more as needed
  • Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow
  • Inform Finance Committee when supplies are needed and if equipment needs repaired
  • Schedule and ensure appropriate staffing levels for events held at the pool at times other than the regularly scheduled hours
  • Check all gates and doors at closing time
  • Other duties as deemed necessary or as required

Required Skills:

  • Candidates with significant knowledge and experience in pool management operations
  • General management experience preferred
  • Must have Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification. CPO or AFO certifications
  • Be serv Safe certified
  • Ability to train and task a season staff of employees
  • Delegate responsibility to Assistant Managers
  • Be a great communicator: written and verbal to keep the members informed
  • Physical exertions to manually move, lift, carry, or push heavy objects
  • Make Forest Hill a fun place for all members
